Under the veil of political correctness, the issues of slavery and civil rights have been consistently distorted and deliberately misrepresented since 1960's in an attempt to take the focus off the real problem. 'Heal the Wounds' is a call to discuss and clarify the issue of slavery and history of the freed society from Reconstruction until this very day. It is a call to repair the damage by achieving justice. It is a contemporary reconstruction of a society still not fully recovered from the wounds of the internal war .
