"The Wounded Warrior"

Dick McDonald

Films seldom stick in my mind like that tune you can't stop humming. But this Tuesday the producer, writer and others associated with a documentary called "The Wounded Warrior" showed their film to our Townhall Group and it stuck. I can't stop thinking about it. What makes that so amazing was I didn't like the film. Having produced 5 theatricals years ago, I thought it wasn't slick enough for my taste. The director cautioned us that the film was more poetic than most and purposely not a machine gun presentation. Read the full article link: dickmcdonald.blogspot.com

"I was not very educated in matters of politics, I had no true left or right wing. The only feelings I had about America were residual feelings of fear and a subtle twang of guilt that was put upon me by the media. I felt guilty for being a capitalist and wanting to live the American dream, while others were suffering. I felt as if I were being greedy. The Wounded Warrior provided me with tangible proof that my tax dollars were like giving to a charity, a charity which frees the oppressed and shows them the meaning of mercy and compassion. As far as the fears I have been holding on to since 9/11, well those fears were abolished after being informed by The Wounded Warrior, just like our great President Lincoln abolished slavery. I feel safe once again and as if our country is in very good if not great hands. I am proud once again to be an American and to believe in all we stand for, what we were founded upon -- Freedom, Liberty and Justice for ALL !"

"I have seen every single movie on Lincoln and the Civil War, nothing has captured the spirit of Lincoln and the war as The Wounded Warrior."
